Disney Classics Are Tops with Today's Young Adults

NEW YORK, Nov. 16, 2004 (PRNewswire) -- Pixar films may rule at the multiplex, but according to members of Bolt, the leading community and entertainment site among 13-24, Disney classics top the list of the greatest animated movies of all-time.

The 1994 Disney film "The Lion King," featuring a soundtrack by Elton John, led the list, followed by "Beauty and the Beast," "Mulan," and "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs."

Pixar, which currently has a blockbuster with "The Incredibles," makes two appearances in the top ten, with "Finding Nemo" (5) and "Toy Story 2" (7).

"This list shows that young people still connect with old-school animation," says Kevin Wicks, editor of movies/TV for Bolt. "There even appeared to be a small backlash against the CGI films. Members voted for the classics they enjoyed as kids."

Bolt members were asked to submit their favorite animated movies. The votes were tabulated, and a panel of 300 handpicked film fans on the site selected the final top 10 from that list.

Here is the complete list of BOLT'S TOP 10 GREATEST ANIMATED MOVIES:

Bolt's Top 10 Animated Movies

1. The Lion King (Disney, 1994)
2. Beauty and the Beast (Disney, 1991)
3. Mulan (Disney, 1998)
4. Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (Disney, 1937)
5. Finding Nemo (Pixar, 2003)
6. Fantasia (Disney, 1940)
7. Toy Story 2 (Pixar, 1999)
8. The Little Mermaid (Disney, 1989)
9. Aladdin (Disney, 1992)
10. Bambi (Disney, 1942)

Godsmack's New Live Concert Movie DVD 'Changes' Mixed in SRS Circle Surround(R) 5.1

Circle Surround Is the Surround Format of Choice for Leading Recording Artists Creating Surround Sound Music and Video Productions

SANTA ANA, Calif., Sept. 17 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- SRS Labs, Inc. (NASDAQ:SRSL) , a renowned provider of audio, voice and surround sound technologies, today announced that the Coming Home Studios ("CHS"), a Los Angeles-based full service television and DVD production and distribution company, has released a long form live music concert DVD from multi-platinum artist Godsmack that was mixed in SRS Circle Surround ("CS"). "Godsmack -- Changes" gives an intimate portrayal of life on tour with one of today's top selling rock bands -- and it all comes alive in vivid and immersive SRS Circle Surround. "Changes" was available in stores this week and is the third DVD from Coming Home Studios utilizing Circle Surround encoding released since May 2004. An original Circle Surround 5.1 mix is included on the PCM stereo track of the DVD.

Filmed by Daniel E. Catullo III and Andrew MacNaughtan throughout the band's 2003-2004 Faceless Tour, the film gives viewers a chance to experience the rigors of being on the road and traveling from city to city to perform music for tens of thousands of die-hard fans. What's unique about this particular DVD release is that the viewer has two different modes to experience the DVD footage. The first way to enjoy the DVD is to view it as a feature film. This enables the viewer to view the songs performed live directed by Daniel E. Catullo III interspersed with exclusive behind-the-scenes footage directed by Andrew MacNaughtan, who were the directing team behind last year's "RUSH in Rio" DVD, which debuted at number one in seven countries and is one of the biggest selling music DVDs of all time. The film mode includes approximately 105 minutes in running time. The second mode to experience the DVD is the concert mode, which consists of 58 minutes of live song performances.

Circle Surround encoding allows a 5.1 surround mix to be stored or transferred via a PCM or two-channel track and delivers surround experience over any surround sound system. This means that if a viewer has a non-digital surround receiver or has not installed their DVD and receiver via the optical jack, they will still enjoy an immersive and thrilling original 5.1 surround mix. Also, any Circle Surround-encoded clip that is broadcast over television or radio, compressed for distribution online, or stored digitally on standard media, such as CDs, DVD-Rs, or personal music juke boxes, can be enjoyed in surround sound if a listener has a multi-speaker system with any surround decoder. One of the most powerful features of CS technology is that it is 100 percent compatible with all playback environments, from one-speaker mono to two-speaker stereo or multi-speaker surround sound systems.

"We have worked hard with SRS Labs to deliver cutting edge surround sound to audiences both on this Godsmack project and previously with Matchbox Twenty," said Daniel E. Catullo III, president and CEO of Coming Home Studios. "When it comes to their favorite music and video, consumers place a very high value on premium audio quality as well as an excellent image, so when they see the SRS brand, they know they're getting the very latest surround sound technologies that can be enjoyed over any playback system."

"Godsmack -- Changes" was produced by Coming Home Studios, a full service television and DVD production and distribution company that uses cutting edge audio and video production methods to deliver the most technically advanced DVDs available on the market today. In addition to the "Rush in Rio" DVD, CHS has produced DVDs for many of today's top artists including, The Dave Matthews Band, Gloria Estefan, Usher, Duran Duran, Matchbox Twenty and many others. Seven of the company's DVDs have charted at #1 in Billboard and thirteen have been in the top ten.

Mike Canevaro, director of sales and development for SRS Labs, commented, "Coming Home Studios gives music fans around the world what they crave -- an in-home concert experience. With incredible video quality using the very latest HD filming techniques, and now with our Circle Surround, fans will feel as if they are in the stadium with the band. We are pleased to further our partnership with CHS as they continue to set new standards of quality for music DVDs."
