Indie
Film Awarded "Best Feature" - THE WEDNESDAY NIGHT SAVE-THE-WORLD
SOCIETY has been awarded the Director's Choice for "Best Feature"
at the miniDV Film Festival in Hollywood.
(PRWEB)
January 8 2004 - The just-released indie film, THE WEDNESDAY NIGHT SAVE-THE-WORLD
SOCIETY, has been named the Director's Choice for Best Feature Film at
the miniDV Film Festival in Hollywood. Co-written and co-directed by Dave
Eisenstark and Fred Burke, the film tells the story of eight individuals
who get together every Wednesday Night to save the World and end up saving
themselves, going from rubbing each other the wrong way to rubbing off
on each other. The motion picture was selected to open the first-ever
miniDV Film Festival at Raleigh Studios.
Stars: Dwight Hicks (yes, THAT Dwight Hicks--former NFL and Michigan football
star)
Ruth deSosa (Killer Within Me, Santa and Pete, Young Indiana Jones, Hook)
David Grammer (Burkittsville 7, Joan of Arcadia, Buffy the Vampire Slayer)
Hollace Starr (Make a Wish)
Mary Margaret Robinson (Just Desserts, Monkey Love, Straight Time, Ruby)
Roger Ranney (The Eliminator, Innocent, From the Earth to the Moon, ER,
Alias, JAG, NYPD Blue, The West Wing)
Peter Szumlas (Slaves to the Underground)
Madison Wells
Producers Mary Margaret Robinson and David Nagy have opted to distribute
the film directly to the public on DVD and VHS, bypassing the usual "search
for a suitable distributor" for the time being. This bold venture
makes it possible for independent film enthusiasts to see the film, even
if they're not close to a major film festival or enlightened video store.
