Movielink and Sundance Channel Sign Deal to Offer Films From the 'Sundance Film Series' and 'Sundance Channel Home Entertainment' Catalogue for Secure Download on Movielink SANTA MONICA, Calif., Dec. 4 (PRNewswire) - In its continuing effort to expand its library and offer more varied programming, Movielink has signed a deal with Sundance Channel to bring a selection of its independent films to the service. The agreement gives Movielink rights to make available for download films distributed as part of the "Sundance Film Series," Sundance Channel's newly formed theatrical releasing entity, and the "Sundance Channel Home Entertainment" Catalogue. In addition, Movielink will be creating a Sundance Channel branded area on the service, featuring titles from Movielink's library of independent films that will be chosen by Sundance Channel each week. The first Sundance Channel Home Entertainment titles to be available on Movielink include "The Sleepy Time Gal," starring Jacqueline Bissett, Martha Plimpton and Nick Stahl; "Amy's O," directed by and starring Julie Davis; "Scotland, PA," starring James Le Gros, Maura Tierney, and Christopher Walken; "The Slaughter Rule," starring Ryan Gosling, Clea DuVall and David Morse; "Hired Hand," a 1971 re-release starring Peter Fonda; and "Searching For Paradise," starring Chris Noth, Susan May Pratt and Jeremy Davies. "The Sundance Channel is synonymous with quality, independent films, and innovative programming," said Jessica Algazi, Movielink's VP of Content. "So the addition of these Sundance Channel films and the Sundance Channel area on the service will go a long way towards meeting our customer demand for 'art-house' films not widely distributed theatrically." "Part of our overall mission at Sundance Channel is to help independent films reach the widest possible audience," stated Paola Freccero, SVP of Film Programming for Sundance Channel. "Movielink is a perfect complement to that mission in that it offers an innovative way for enthusiastic film fans to seek out entertainment they might not otherwise have access to. After downloading movies from Movielink, customers can store movies for up to 30 days. Once play is initiated, they can watch a movie as many times as they would like in a 24-hour period. With the recently introduced "Movies in Minutes"(TM) feature, customers can start watching a film within minutes of initiating a download. Downloads range between $1.99 and $4.99. The movies can be watched at home or downloaded to a laptop for traveling. About Movielink Movielink,
