Tony Bennett and k.d. lang Nominated for Two Grammy Awards

NEW YORK, Dec. 5 (PRNewswire) -- RPM/Columbia Records -- Multiple Grammy winners Tony Bennett and k.d. lang were nominated for two Grammy awards in the 46th Annual Grammy Awards nominations announced Thursday, December 4. Bennett and lang were nominated in the Best Pop Collaboration with Vocals category for "La Vie En Rose" (from the album "A Wonderful World") and in the Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album category for "A Wonderful World." A tribute to the music of Louis Armstrong, "A Wonderful World" was released last November on RPM/Columbia Records.

"A Wonderful World" was produced by T Bone Burnett, producer of "O Brother, Where Art Thou?" 2001's Grammy-winning Album of the Year. Inspired by the songs associated with Louis Armstrong, a friend and colleague of Bennett's as well as a major influence on both performers, "A Wonderful World" features such songs as "La Vie En Rose," "If We Never Meet Again," "I'm Confessin' (That I Love You)" and the beloved Armstrong classic, "What A Wonderful World."

In its review of the album, The New York Times commented that the Bennett/lang pairing is "a vocal fit so perfect it seems made in heaven."

Bennett and lang recently toured Australia to sold-out audiences in Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne.
