July 5, 2003

If there ever was a doubt that Techno, House or Breakbeat music is out, I can confirm beyond a shadow of a doubt it's popularity is not dwindling after seeing over 5,500 fans partying their asses off at tonight's 95.3 Party Blockbuster.

The 95.3 Party BlockBuster is a block party held in downtown Orlando, featuring the likes of DJ, Donna D or "Dee Dee" and the Bad Boys of Breaks, Becky Baeling, Sarai, Rockell, DJ Icey, 4 Strings, Roc Project, and Darude.

To patriotically start the night off, Party staffer Micah sang the National Anthem, and after the gates opened thousands of enthusiastic fans got to jam up close and personal as Tara Sky and DJ KJ took center stage.

From the grand amount of people that showed up, I gathered that the DJ's had a loyal fan base and that makes more of an impression than I can describe.

Fans who weathered the heat were treated to an incredible set by Terra Skye who kicked the night off with her hit single, "Is This Love".

The show really heated up when Rockell took stage and she commanded the attention of the audience and took the show to a higher level when she performed "What You Did to Me".

Rock Project featuring Tina Novak did "Never" which was a thrilling stage show. 4 Strings traveled all the way from The Netherlands to help celebrate our country's independence holiday. They sang "Take Me Away", "Revelation" and the ever popular "Diving". Their set was nothing less than stellar.

Finally DJ Icey closed out the show with a high energy performance that included his turn table and his dancers. His show was so capitaving that Rockell and Terra Skye joined fans in dancing to his muic.

To those who have a less positive opinion about techno music, let me reccommend that you experience a live show in full effect. It might make a believer out of you after all! Those of you who love house and breakbeat, you missed one hell of a concert! I can't wait for next year's 95.3 Party Blockbuster.
