JIMMY BUFFETT CONCERT REVIEW
at THE ST. PETE TIMES FORUM

April 22, 2004 (Tampa, FL)

Many Buffett fans arrive in Tampa the night before (April 21) to party at Channel Side, the bars start to fill around 11pm. All with high enthusiasm - waiting tomorrow nights first concert of this years Jimmy Buffett Tour. Fans already in their Buffett attire of Hawaiian Beach style shirts, some with Parrott hats, Cheesberger hats and Shark hats. Viewing tonight's excitement, just wait until tomorrow! Thursday (April 22) I awake, excited to have a great day and get ready for the Buffett Concert. The lobby of the Marriott Waterside is already crowding with Buffett fans. I started my day with a oxygen facial and got my hair done. Feeling very relaxed I go back to the room to quickly get ready, and race down with my brother Frank to get a quick bite to eat at Champions Sport Bar. The place was packed. Buffett Fans everywhere, excitement is definitely high, all dressed in their own unique beach style.

We and most of the crowd leave Champions and walk across the street to the St. Pete Times Forum. People are all over the streets and in the parking lot partying before the concert. We enter into the Press Box, where we observed the packed Forum. Excitement has filled the entire sold out show, Beach Balls flying all over, all in their colorful outfits and leis around their necks, even light up necklaces and bracelets. Women and even some men in their Hoola Skirts and Grass Hats. The Time has arrived Jimmy Buffett the 57 year old, barefooted and in his relaxed beach style, smiling and in a great mood. He starts the first concert of his tour. Day-O (Banana Boat Song) starts the nights, his band standing behind him and hoola girls swaying their shirts and then came (Changes in Latitudes, Changes in Attitude), fans were singing along, the crowd was happy. Continuing to sing more hits, including Son of a Son of Sailor and the movie screens showed videos of Buffet fishing, and different beach scenes during his relaxing times in Florida Beaches, including Key West. He sang his version of Van Morrisons ( Brown Eyed Girl) most of the audience standing and really getting into the song and mood. Buffett would chat to the audience between songs, totally having a wonderful time himself. He sang (Why Don't We Get Drunk). The crowd goes crazy, and then he sing (Hey Good Lookin'), their were horns blowing, whistling and a whole lot of shake, rattle and rolling going on all over. His second set he continued with more favorites, Margaritaville and Cheeseburger in Paradise, Come Monday, It was all very awesome, everybody standing, singing along. The last songs were License to Chill, Changing Channels and Finn (Shark Song) everybody swaying to the right and to the left and all of a sudden a Great White Shark is Floating above the crowd all over the St. Pete Times Forum and then the Shark floats back up to the ceiling, the show ends, with all having an awesome, exciting night with Jimmy Buffett! Parties continue at Newks Bar and Grill, across from the St. Pete Times Forum. Jim Morris sang many more beach songs, keeping the crowd going wild, as Jimmy Buffett fans kept coming in until the bar closed. Fun was had by all, what a night!
