DISTURBED
Music as a weapon II Tour at USF Sundome in Tampa, FL

I'm
not some failed musician who is ticked off I didn't get a number one hit
and now I have a hard on against every artist who has achieved success
and I'm not going to blow you away with all kinds of technical terms you
don't understand because I am just an average person who loves music and
enjoys going to concerts and hopefully this is what will come across in
this review.
After spending the day listening to Disturbed's
CD I came into the concert with very high expectations and quite frankly,
Disturbed exceed my wildest expectations.
Playing a high charged set of about 75 minutes the show started with Guitarist
Dan Donegan and Bass Player Fuzz playing on the top level of the stage
and with Drummer Mike Wengren banging away on the drums then lead singer
David Draiman emerged from the shadows and things started quickly with
their song Voices. With Donegan blazing away on his guitar and Fuzz pounding
on his bass the lights were flicking in harmony with each note the band
played adding to the enjoyment of the show.
The show exploded with excitement when Draiman explained what Disturbed's
logo meant and when he asked the crowd to support our troops and remember
that we are all brothers and sisters the crowd roared with their approval
and that also increased band's intensity level with each song they played.
Draiman's mesmerizing voice never sounded better especially on Remember
and Down with the sickness which sounded even more haunting when I looked
around and saw everyone in the crowd singing the words to the song and
watched everyone on the floor dancing to it.
Disturbed
closed the show with Stupify from their first CD The
Sickness and Prayer
from their latest CD
Believe. While many artists sound better on CD Disturbed is one group
I have seen who sound better live than on CD. You don't have to be a fan
of Metal to enjoy Disturbed
in concert. All you have to be is someone who loves seeing a great concert.
Opening band UNLOCO from Austin,
TX started off the Music as a weapon II and played an enjoyable 30 minute
set followed by Taproot
who played an energetic 30 minute set highlighted by their hits Mine
and Poem and last
but not least, Chevelle
played a really remarkable 30 minute set which was capped off by their
hits The Red and Send
The Pain Below .
