Endo
Bio
ENDO'S "SONGS FOR THE RESTLESS"
NOW SET FOR RELEASE JULY 22, 2003
DEBUT
APPEARANCE ON OZZFEST CONFIRMED
May
6, 2003 -- Endo's SONGS FOR THE RESTLESS album is now set for release
July 22 on DV8/Columbia.
It'll be launched with the first single, "Simple Lies," which
will be serviced to radio mid-July. A video will follow shortly thereafter.
In addition to leading at radio, the song also appears on the "Daredevil"
soundtrack (which recently cracked the Top 10 on the Billboard "Top
200 Albums" chart).
As "Simple Lies"' inclusion on the soundtrack was praised in
a recent review on Rocknworld.com: "
a Morrissey like delivery
set against an interesting and dynamic modern rock musical score."
And in a Miami New Times cover story, writer Omar Perez hailed: "The
group embraces more melody on songs like 'Simple Lies' while dishing out
heavy-bottomed crunch on 'Shame' and taking the foot off the distortion
pedal and adding acoustic guitar chimes on the subdued 'Circles.' Meanwhile
Bitton removes himself from the spit-rhyme delivery that permeated EVOLVE,
instead going for a balance between whispered melodrama and screaming
fury."
On the touring front, ENDO will be making their debut appearance on this
summer's Ozzfest along with Ozzy Osbourne, Korn, Marilyn Manson and others.
The trek begins June 28 in San Antonio, TX.
The Miami foursome are sure to ignite another gritty wake up call with
SONGS FOR THE RESTLESS, recorded in Los Angeles with producer David Schiffman
(Red Hot Chili Peppers, Tom Petty). It exhibits Endo in its finest fashion.
While clearly a pivotal debut, their EVOLVE album was independently recorded
in sporadic sessions over a year, and the group acquired a new guitarist
and drummer right as the disc hit retail. Now with focused studio time
and a galvanized line-up, Endo takes EVOLVE's singularized touches to
full fruition with a darker, more seductive sound that magnifies the band's
immediate force and draw. Each song guides listeners through prominent
peaks and valleys, but rather than rely on simple bursts of anger, vocalist
Gil Bitton-who was born in Israel and moved to Florida at an early age--drives
the hard-soft dynamics with an emotional tone that delivers the dagger
with the hammer.
Meanwhile, the band hooked up with Pioneer Electronics for inclusion in
their "Headbangers" commercial campaign, which ran in March.
"Simple Lies" and "Ruckus" from the album were included
on extensive TV, Internet and print promotions. The TV commercial aired
during the Colonial Basketball Association games (February-March 2003).
A Pioneer Electronics CD-Rom that is being packaged in special issues
of Super Street, Eurotuner, Car Audio and Electronics magazines will be
distributed at auto trade shows throughout 2003.
