Heart Concert Review

Heart performing at The House of Blues in Orlando, FL

Heart at House of Blues - Orlando, FL

June 26, 2003

Heart's been one of my favorite Bands for years. I've seen them perform live many times and when I found out they were playing at the House of Blues in Orlando I couldn't wait for their show.

Hitting the stage around 8:30 PM Heart started the show off quickly by playing "Kick It Out" from their "Little Queen" album a couple of songs later they played an Incredible version of "Even It up" one of their more underrated hits from their "Bebe Le Strange" Album.

Then they went into a remarkable version of "Crazy on you" and every time Ann sang "Crazy, Crazy on you" Nancy would start dancing like crazy while playing her guitar and not missing a single note. I've always felt that Nancy was one of the better guitarists in rock and Ann simply has a voice that was born to perform live.

If that wasn't enough then later in the show they performed one of the best live versions I have ever heard of the old Led Zeppelin classic, "Black Dog" Ann's Incredible vocals never sounded better and Gilby Clarke and Nancy Wilson's guitar work was first rate, couple that with Mike Inez Incredible cranking on the Bass and Ben Smith's drumming and you have a live song that is destined to become a classic just like the original version. I don't know if Heart will ever put this on a Live CD but I hope they do its that good. The did the old Zeppelin classic justice.

If that wasn't enough then they went right into my all time favorite Heart song "Barracuda" and this was the best I have ever heard them play this song.

Song after song, hit after hit, Heart kept pouring it on climaxing an incredible evening of music with another old Zeppelin song "Battle of Evermore" before ending the show with one of their best songs "Dreamboat Annie."

Twenty songs and over two hours later, I left the House of Blues with a smile on my face after seeing one of the best concerts of the year. Heart is back and man do they know how to rock!

Heart is going to have a new CD coming out in August.

Orlando Florida Guide Reader Comments on Heart In Concert:

Just saw Heart for the first time at the Scene Pavilion in Cleveland, Ohio.Without doubt, one of the classic concerts that I have seen in my lifetime, and I have seen many, many shows. The Led Zeppelin songs were astounding. The classics were thrilling, many highlights to an exquisitely put together show. Ann's slower reading of "Alone" provided the spine-tingling chills of the evening. The setting was on the river, and a full moon shone directly above the band. And the crowd showed its massive appreciation of a great event. What a fantastic evening. Thank you so much, Ann, Nancy, and the band.
