Florida Guide Interview with Letter Kills.
(Editor's note: Letter Kills arrived at the venue around 6:30 PM we did the Interview a few minutes later outside across the street from Freebird Cafe.)
OFG: How did you come up with the name of the band?
LT: We were in church one day and we heard the pastor say it, he said, "Letter Kills" in a scripture and we thought it sounded really cool and when we went back and read it and it had a really cool meaning.
OFG: Where are you guys from?
LT: Camentko, CA
OFG: How long has the band been together?
LT: Since August 2002
OFG: How many demos did you have to send out before you got signed?
LT: Zero. Island Records kinda came to us.
OFG: What are you thoughts on playing with Hoobastank and Die Trying?
LT: Good. Kind of a different crowd than we would normally play, so it's really good for us, because we get to play in front of kids we normally wouldn't listen to our music.
OFG: What genre would you classify your music as?
LT: Rock N Roll. I don't know ... it's hard to pinpoint, so I just say Rock.
OFG: Who are some of your influences?
LT: Me, personally, Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, AC/DC.
OFG: We're seeing technological changes almost everyday. How do you think this will help the music industry?
LT: I don't know if it's going to help the Industry other than the fact that music will be more easily accessible.
OFG: Do you find online publications like Orlando Florida Guide help promote bands?
LT: Oh yeah.
OFG: What are some of your more memorble concert moments?
LT: This is the biggest we have ever been. So, I think our memorable experiences are the local club shows.
OFG: Do you have an album out now?
LT: No, not yet. We are going into the studio October 10th.
OFG: Is there a tentative title for the album?
LT: Not yet.
OFG: Any idea how many songs will be on the album?
LT: I would say around 12 songs.
OFG: Will there be a music video?
LT: Yes.
OFG: Is there anything you want to say to your fans or the readers of Orlando Florida Guide?
LT: Hi. (Laughs) I don't know. Be ready to get rocked.
OFG: Do you have a website?
LT: Yes. it's www.letterkills.com.
OFG: Do you have a street team?
LT: Through Island Records we do, but not anything else really. I think they are trying to get one together for us and if you go to our website on our message board there are links that will take you to our fan sites.
