Like
many people who were driving to Livestock 13, we kept asking
ourselves were the heck is Zephyrhills?
Well, it's in the middle of no where a place you drive for miles and miles
and see nothing but Cows and Trees. As mundane as that may seem that was
the only part of the day that was boring.
For
those of you who don't know whatLivestock 13 is it's the
yearly festival put on by98 Rock Tampa and if you missed
this years show you missed a spectacular day of music, sun and fun, unlike
any I have seen before.
The show started promptly on time and virtually every band went on at
their schedule time which is a rarity for a show of this size. All fifteen
bands put on incredible shows and its hard to believe you could see this
many great bands perform in one day. 98 rock pulled it off in a
way that left you wishing the show went on for days.
Ra
started the day off and with a performance that had fans shaking their
heads and moshing up a storm within minutes.
Pacifier, took the stage and when lead singer Johnny Toogood,
jumped onto the floor and started rocking with fans it gave them a memory
they won't soon forget.
Crossbred, stormed the stage and treated fans to an unforgetable set
of Industrial style music.
The highlight of the day was Saliva's
performance and when Josey Scott, reminded fans to support our
troops overseas their overwhelming approval just sent the band's energy
to the stratosphere enhancing the entire show and creating an atmosphere
I have never experienced at a concert. Saliva's cutting-edge lyrics
and Josey Scott's incredible vocals never sounded better.
If
that wasn't enough one of my all time favorite bands, Def Leppard,
hit the stage and there adrenealine fueled performance showed the crowd
after 20 years these British rockers still have what it takes to
put on a great show. Younger bands could take some lessons from these
guys.
Thinking the show had hit its peak, 3
Doors Down, got on stage and took the show up a couple of notches
with a set which fired up the fans so much they were dancing and singing
to every word of each song they performed.
Closing out the show was headliner, Godsmack,
who heated things up quickly with a pyrotechnics enhanced set that made
their performance one that Livestock 13, fans will remember
for years to come. Thisis a band that was born to perform
live.
All these great bands and 98 Rock showed us that even if you are
in the middle of no where you can still see great concert. I don't know
about you, but, I can't wait to see Livestock 14 next year and
what surprises 98 rock has in store for us.
