Queensryche
Concert
Review
House of Blues equals great musicians and great bands. That's the one
word that described the concert on June 27th. Fate Warning, Dream Theater,
and Queensryche performed in front of a sold out House of Blues. With
Queensryche the word (sold out) is often attached next to their concert
tour dates.
Fans
on both levels of the House of Blues lit the place up with waves of flickering
lighters. From ages 28 to 48 fans got their money's worth starting with
Fate Warning, Dream Theater, and Queensryche. The guitar solo by John
Petrucci and bass player John Myung from Dream Theater added electricity
to the rocking light show. It just won't be a great show unless you have
a guitar solo.
As
Queensryche hit the stage a uniformed cheer echoed from HOB that could
be heard for miles. Geoff Tate, Queensryche lead singer, sported a new
look that
fans didn't mind at all. Micheal Wilton, Queenryche guitarist, rocked
the house as usual. I've never known Queensryche to travel with an orchestra,
they don't, it was the fans singing note for note. Songs like Empire,
Walking In The Shadows, and Jet City Women fueled the audience and kept
the rocking harder.
In between a song Queensryche lead singer, Geoff Tate took a moment to
thank Orlando for having the band back. It added a personal touch that
everyone appreciated. Just when everyone thought it was over all three
bands appeared on the stage to collaborate some rocking sounds. House
of Blues great musicians and great bands equal great music.
