Shinedown, the Jacksonville, FL band was in town today to promote the release of their debut CD "Leave a Whisper" and treated fans to an acoustic set featuring their single "Fly from the Inside" and a remarkable rendition of "45" among other songs.

Having photographed them at Livestock 13, I knew how good they are in concert, but nothing prepared me for how great they would be in today's acoustic set.

I once said in a review, "They blew me away like a hurricane." Well, today, Shinedown blew me away like five hurricanes. Just when my feet would touch the ground they played another song and that blew me away again and again.

Lead singer Brent Smith sent shivers of excitement down my spine with his superb vocals and Barry Kerch played the bongo like he was born with one in his hands. Brad Stewart and Jasin Todd played their guitars with perfection and all this made for one of the best acoustic sets I have ever seen.

If that wasn't enough, the band stayed until every one of the 300 + fans in attendance got an autograph from the band and many fans present were able to have their photo taken with the band.

Shinedown is on tour this summer and if you have a chance to go see them I highly recommended it. You won't be sorry. This is one band you will be telling your grandchildren you saw live in concert. They are that good!

And don't forget Shinedown's debut CD "Leave a Whisper" is now available at your favorite record store.
