Staind at Jannus Landing, St. Petersburg, FLJuly 8, 2003 Playing a free concert for the listeners of 98 rock of Tampa. Staind took the stage at Jannus landing and preceded to heat up the night with a set that had everyone's head up in the clouds. They played virtually all of their hits and some new songs to keep the capacity crowd entertained. There were times I closed my eyes and I thought I was listening to their CD in my car, except my car has air conditioning! Despite the small stage at Jannus Landing that didn't deter Staind from moving around and having as much fun as a 90 degree night in Florida would allow. For an outdoor venue the acoustics were surprisingly good. Aaron Lewis's voice sounded as good as it does on their records and I couldn't believe how well drummer Jon Wysocki played. You would think a 90 degree night would have slowed him down but he didn't miss a beat! Mike Mushok jammed on his guitar and Johnny April cranked on his bass not even letting the heat and humidity get to them. This made an impressive set all the better. Aaron Lewis constantly made eye contact with the fans and several girls jumped up on guys shoulders so they could get a better glimpse of their favorite band member. All in all the fans were treated to a memorable night of rock and roll by one of the better bands I have seen live. By
