LAMB OF GOD’S CHRIS ADLER CONTRIBUTES TO MODERN DRUMMER MAGAZINE WITH MONTHLY COLUMN!!!

Chris Adler, the blistering drummer of heavy metal giants Lamb of God, will be contributing to Modern Drummer Magazine with a column entitled, “My Two Cents.” In his column, Chris will be answering reader’s questions from his unique drumming perspective, as well as suggesting and teaching new drum techniques.

Chris commented on his new monthly column: “I’m flattered and amazed to be asked to contribute a column to the magazine. As I mention in the column this month, I'm not the typical MD model. I'm not the Berklee kid - I'm the kid with the long hair and denim jacket that figured it out my way. I hope the column serves as a beacon to players like myself who may feel overwhelmed by MD magazine. It's great of MD to recognize the organic, self-taught style, and I hope to empower those readers who play from their heart, not just from the exercises we read. I'm already receiving very positive feedback and questions from readers and can't wait bring a bit different perspective to them.”

THE ACACIA STRAIN’S FOURTH STUDIO RECORD RELEASE & HEADLINING TOUR!

In the midst of copy cat & cookie cutter bands, THE ACACIA STRAIN stand out as a group that sidesteps convention and the mundane and continuously produce gripping, technical, blistering metal. THE ACACIA STRAIN is known for their down-tuned guitar sound and nasty breakdowns; as the band combines the elements of abrasive death metal, and hardcore. The Massachusetts four-some will be proudly releasing their fourth studio record, Continent, via Prosthetic Records on August 19th, 2008. The band tapped acclaimed producer Zeuss (Hatebreed, Shadows Fall, God Forbid) for this next release. The artwork for Continent was done by none other then Paul Romano (Chiodos, Mastodon, Trivium, The Red Chord)

THE ACACIA STRAIN is bringing the onslaught to the road and to the fans, headlining the SUN YOUR BUNZ tour, with dates running from May 30 to June 29. Nuclear Blast’s All Shall Perish and fellow Massachusetts hardcore masters, Since the Flood are on the road as support with select dates featuring The Warriors and Eternal Lord. The Warriors (Victory Records) will be performing May 30 to June 13 and Ferret Music’s UK deathcore export; Eternal Lord will be out from June 13 to the end of the tour.

Meet cellist Rufus Cappadocia, a multi-lingual musician, performer, composer and recording artist of incredible range and diversity. From the modalities of Middle Eastern, West African and pan-European folk forms to blues, rock and jazz along the way, adding elements American roots, Mediterranean textures, and Caribbean percussion for good measure, Cappadocia’s effortless and natural embrace of all music is awe-inspiring.

After years of experimentation and creative revision, Cappadocia plays a self-designed five-string electric cello that extends the bass range of the cello down to 41 hz, and through amplification expands its tonal possibilities, creating new sounds by what was once known only as a classical music instrument.

“I’ve studied a lot of different musical vocabularies,” Rufus Cappadocia explains. “And I’ve played with musicians literally from around the world. But, in the end, music all comes down to a single source. You can be pulled this way or that, but essentially it all converges on the same location. Every doorway leads back to one place,” adding with a laugh, “I guess you could say my whole life has been an attempt at getting to that place.”

LEAD-OFF SINGLE “KILLA,” FEATURING RAPPER YUNG JOC, IS ALREADY A MASSIVE MULTI-MEDIA BREAKOUT SMASH

April 24, 2008 — New York, NY — Sometimes ‘THE TRUTH’ is just too hot to handle. Atlanta-bred R&B singing sensations CHERISH, which is sisters Farrah, Neosha, Felisha, and Farron King, have already proven it by setting the airwaves ablaze with their latest single “Killa,” featuring rapper Yung Joc. The single, which was produced by Don Vito, rocketed up Urban, Mainstream, and Rhythmic/Crossover radio charts across the country after being heard in the smash film Step Up 2 in February and is now going strong on the Billboard pop charts. The single is currently at No. 21 on the Pop 100 airplay chart, No. 26 on the Pop 100 chart, and No. 47 on the Hot 100 chart, reaching an audience of 2.6 million listeners. “Killa” is also a featured track on MySpace’s well-trafficked Prom destination (http://www.myspace.com/prom).

Now CHERISH will deliver ‘THE TRUTH’ when Sho’Nuff Records/Capitol Music Group releases the sisters’ new album of the same title on May 13th, 2008. It is the follow-up to the group’s R.I.A.A. gold-certified 2006 album Unappreciated.

“Our new album is called ‘THE TRUTH’ because it delves into the different aspect of our lives,” says Fallon. “It’s a testament to our growth,” says Farrah. “The initial perception of Cherish was that we were this little girl group with catchy records.” Adds Neosha: “But we wrote our entire first album and this one, with the exception of a few tracks written with Terius ‘The Dream’ Nash” (who penned Rihanna’s global smash “Umbrella”). “Our struggles growing up in the music industry have only made us stronger and that’s what ‘THE TRUTH’ is all about.”

The confessional R&B jams on ‘THE TRUTH’ range from scorching break-up songs like “Lovesick” (produced by Adonis and K-Fam) and “Like A Drum” (produced by Jazze Pha) to stay-strong anthems “Amnesia” and “Before You Were My Man” (produced by Eric Hudson), which flips the script by giving the guy a taste of his own medicine. “There is not one song on this album where we are not singing our hearts out,” says Felisha.

‘THE TRUTH’ will have its world premiere on MySpace, which will hold an early listening party and stream the album in its entirety on May 9th. AOL and MSN will also feature listening parties on their sites. Cherish will make a walk-on appearance on MTV’s TRL on May 13th.

Gearing up for the release of ‘THE TRUTH,’ the girls have been promoting “Killa” by performing with Yung Joc on BET’s 106th and Park, as well as on Showtime at the Apollo and BET’s Spring Bling. The “Killa” video, which includes footage from Step Up 2, has been featured on BET’s Access Granted and TRL’s “First Look” on MTV, and is in rotation on MTV Jams, MTV Hits, and BET. The song, which has been remixed by Jermaine Dupri and featuring rapper Kid Slim, has also been heard on MTV’s hit docu-soap The Hills, and on sports telecasts on CBS and NBC. CHERISH has just shot a new video for the album’s second single, “Amnesia” in Atlanta. Directed by Benny Boom, the video will premiere on BET’s Access Granted on May 7th at 7:30 p.m.

CHERISH first launched themselves onto the R&B scene in 2006 with their single “Do It to It,” featuring the Young Bloodz’ Sean P. The track went Top 10 on the R&B/Hip Hop chart and Top 15 on Billboard’s Hot 100, and helped propel their debut for Sho’Nuff/Capitol, Unappreciated, to gold status. That album’s title track was also a Top 10 hit at Urban radio.
