CMT's weeklong celebration of the roots of American Music, CMT BLUEGRASS
RULES, continues through Sunday, Jan. 27. CMT will present outstanding
musical performances, explore the history of the genre, delve into the
actual craftsmanship of bluegrass instruments, and feature legends and
new stars of this uniquely American music.
Superstar
Vince Gill hosts the CMT original documentary CMT BLUEGRASS SOUND. Vince
takes viewers on a journey that reveals the passion that goes into the
music - from the craftsmen who create the instruments to the musicians
who bring forth the instruments' rich sounds to make unforgettable music.
CMT BLUEGRASS SOUND profiles four master artisans from around the nation
who handcraft mandolins, fiddles, banjos, and resonator guitars. The special
showcases 15 musical performances by the Dixie Chicks, Patty Loveless,
Ricky Skaggs, Nickel Creek, Earl Scruggs, Marty Stuart, Del McCoury Band,
Bela Fleck, Jerry Douglas, and many more. CMT BLUEGRASS SOUND airs on

FAME: TRACE ADKINS
Country star Trace Adkins, an ex-oilfield roughneck and honky tonk singer,
reveals the incredible details of his life - including near-death injuries
- on CMT INSIDE FAME. Trace talks to CMT about his days in the oilfield,
his close calls with fatal injuries, getting shot in the heart by his
ex-wife, and many of the ups and downs with his life and career. He tells
CMT, "I am so fortunate that God's got this deal worked out the way
