BURBANK,
Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 7, 2004--The soundtrack album to "The
Lord of the Rings: The Return Of The King," the final installment
in Peter Jackson's epic "The Lord Of The Rings" trilogy, has
been nominated for two key Golden Globe Awards. Since its release in late November, "The Lord of the Rings: The Return Of The King" has racked up sales in excess of 300,000 units, joining its bestselling predecessors "The Fellowship Of The Ring" (2001) and "The Two Towers" (2002), which have sold over 3 million units worldwide. Additionally, "The Two Towers" soundtrack has been nominated for a Grammy as Best Original Score. The Golden Globes will air live on NBC Television on January 25th at 8PM EST. For
the third straight weekend, "The Lord of the Rings: The Return of
the King" has ruled the box office, with gross receipts to date of
over $290 million, and is well on its way to a tie with Spider Man as
the fastest film in history to earn $300 million.
