Worldwide superstar Rod Stewart has a lot to celebrate this holiday season starting with the news of his newly certified platinum album, As Time Goes By...The Great American Songbook Vol II shooting up the Billboard charts with an 83% surge in sales grabbing the number 7 spot. This shouldn't come as a huge surprise to the music legend who saw his first songbook album regain momentum in the past few months with double platinum sales and a solid top 50 chart position after blowing up 73% this week. Last week while doing press in New York, music mogul Clive Davis alongside president of the RCA Music Group Charles Goldstuck and longtime manager Arnold Stiefel presented Stewart with his platinum plaques.

In February, Rod will set out on an unprecedented 44-city tour for the first time in 3 years celebrating his career of hits. The tour, From Maggie May to the Great American Songbook kicks off in Ft. Lauderdale on February 6th, just 2 days before the 46th Grammy Awards ceremony which nominated Rod again this year for the 13th time for his current album: As Time Goes By...The Great American Songbook Vol II.
