NASHVILLE, Tenn., Jan. 20 /PRNewswire/ - The night before the AFC and NFC champions battle it out on the field for the coveted Super Bowl XXXVIII championship, CMT is throwing its own brand of tailgate party to celebrate the current champion of country music Toby Keith. CMT's high-powered performance special, TOBY KEITH'S SHOCK 'N Y'ALL SUPER BOWL PARTY: A CMT CROSSROADS SPECIAL, part of the National Football League Super Bowl Concert Series, will be telecast live Saturday, Jan. 31 at 10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT.*

This historic one-hour concert will kick-off the country's biggest sporting event and will be telecast live from Houston, the home of Super Bowl XXXVIII. The show will feature special musical performances by superstar Toby Keith, supported by his band and a gathering of very special friends. Scheduled to join Keith are Texan legend and collaborator Willie Nelson; Sammy Hagar; Darryl McDaniels (DMC); Chad Smith (Red Hot Chili Peppers); and jazz musician Wayman Tisdale.

"The Super Bowl always marks a time when friends can get together, enjoy the best game of football, talk about which television commercial they think is the funniest and be entertained by some of the best artists music has to offer," says Keith. "It's an honor to be asked to be a part of the event this year and I can't wait to get on stage with my friends from country, rock and pop music for all our fans."

Keith heads into 2004 after having a stellar 2003 year, beginning with the hit "Who's Your Daddy," which spent five weeks at No. 1, and continuing with country music domination of the singles "Beer For My Horses" and "I Love This Bar" which both spent six weeks at No. 1. Since its release in May 2008, Keith's latest album "Shock 'N Y'All" has sold over two and a half million copies and remains number one on the Country Album chart while his previous, quadruple-platinum album, "Unleashed," holds steady in the Top 5.
