Interview with Haitz

Interview conducted by Johnny U with Richard Haitz on 11/10/03

JOHNNY U of Orlando Florida Guide (OFG): Hey what a great show this weekend at Paladinos in the Valley! I knew nothing about you before that night other than reading that you had been nominated by All Access Magazine as LAs Best Local Band. Since, checking you guys out on the net, I noticed you started out as Richard Haitz solo act or was it the band?

Richard Haitz (R.H.) I created this band before I had one. I am fortunate to have a complete vision and can play many instruments/produce & engineer. I recorded IDENTIFY last Nov. and Dec. Then I started searching for the right musicians who had the same vision and that could take the music and the live show to another level. We will be recording another CD this December with the current line up.

OFG: How long have you played together?

R.H. We have been plaing together since January of 2003.

OFG: How did you get started as a Group?

R.H. Once I had the finished product I put my feelers out for groove oriented African American players. I wanted the soul put into metal.

OFG: What are your musical influences?

R.H.My influences are KISS, KING'S X, FAITH NO MORE, PANTERA, DISCO, FUNK, ELECTRONIC, JAZZ and CLASSICAL.

OFG: What is your current Record Label Situation?

R.H. At this point I don't think anyone has heard of us. I want the word of mouth to get around instead of begging the labels.

OFG: What venues to do you like in LA to play?

R.H. I love the HARD ROCK BEVERLY CENTER, The ROXY, THE EL REY.

OFG: Any regional, or national touring plans?

R.H. None at this point. We would need some type of tour support. We are ready and willing.

OFG: Any Thing else you would like to say?

M.H. HAITZ is the HARDEST working band in the entire music industry. We love what we do, we love metal and we love the fans. We love to entertain. Thank You for this opportunity.

ABOUT HAITZ

BAND AND ALBUM

This modern rock outfit singer is Richard Haitz-lead vocals/guitar; Lyle Simmons-guitar/backing vocals; Juan VanDunk-bass/backing vocals; Joey Tressler-drums.

HAITZ's music can be described as a mix of hard rock, heavy metal, with a touch of industrial. With heavy guitars and undeniable rhythm, their music is a combination of cadence and creative lyrics that is displayed at their live performances and captured on their albums.

Every so often a band comes around with a certain uniqueness that grabs you from the opening song, and then gets better with each listen. Every song represents a wealth of rock and heavy metal music styles. The fascination with this new breed of modern rock musicians is their instinctive ability to connect many genres of music, thereby shaping and molding it into something all of their own making.

The album captures HAITZ's unique sound, with guitar riffs attacked from every angle, addictive rhythms, and compelling changes. There is never a break, mistake, or missed note. Perfection is the word and music of this nature grows inside itself, and it will grow on you with each spin.
