Grammy Award winning composer/musician Chip Davis is one of the most successful innovators and entrepreneurs in music history. More than 25 years ago, he transformed popular instrumental music by introducing what has become known as the New Age Music genre. By mixing pop music with classical and rock styles, he has given new life to country music and rejuvenated Christmas music with the release of his best-selling series of holiday albums. Tonight they will bring to you a spectacular evening of sight and sound for the entire family! TODD
RUNDGREN & JOE JACKSON Todd Rundgren is universally regarded as the most influential and innovative artist of his generation. For the past 35 years, he has consistently been on the cutting edge as a musician, singer-songwriter, record producer and multimedia artist. After his success with Something/Anything, he went on to record two more ground breaking psychedelic albums A Wizard/ A True Star and the self-titled masterpiece Todd. During that same year he formed the progressive rock band called Utopia. British singer, musician, songwriter and producer Joe Jackson has flirted with 1940's jump and swing music, post-punk New Wave and symphonic music. He won a Grammy for his classically based album Symphony No. 1. Some of his most memorable hits include Sunday Papers, Fools in Love and Is She Really Going Out With Him? Come and enjoy an evening of pop rock nostalgia as Todd Rundgren and Joe Jackson make their first appearance on the King Center stage. RAVI
SHANKAR AND ANOUSHKA SHANKAR Legendary virtuoso sitarist, composer, teacher and writer, Ravi Shankar is renowned throughout the world for his pioneering work in bringing Indian music to the West. He won his third Grammy for Full Circle/Live At Carnegie Hall 2000 in the Best Album in World Music category. Over many decades Shankar has concertized on the world's greatest stages sharing his love of music with people from all countries. He continues this journey with his daughter and protégé, Anoushka, the only artist in the world to be trained completely by her father. An incredible evening with two remarkable musicians! DENNIS
DEYOUNG Dennis DeYoung recreates 30 years of musical history in this unique symphonic rock experience. Former singer and songwriter of the Chicago based rock group STYX DeYoung combines the live orchestra with the edge of a rock band bringing new power and feeling to such classics as Lady, Babe, Mr. Roboto, Grand Illusion, Don't Let It End and Rockin' the Paradise. Joining this evening of entertainment is special guest John Waite, an accomplished acoustic performer and exceptional vocalist whose hits include Missing You, Change, When I See You Smile, Every Time I Think Of You and Back On My Feet Again. ATTACK Rick Braun, Peter White, Jonathan Butler and Richard Elliot are touring together in hopes of giving their fans an evening to remember! Contemporary jazz Guitarist/keyboard player Peter White became a leader in his field in the 90's and is a veteran session player on all Basia albums. Two-time smooth jazz "Artist of the Year", Rick Braun (trumpeter/composer/producer) blends soulful melodies and forceful funk rhythms with cool contemporary vibe. Guitarist Jonathan Butler's ability to create spirited music from his soul has won him two Grammy nominations and saxophonist Richard Elliot has become one of the brightest stars in the smooth jazz galaxy. BERRY AND LITTLE RICHARD Chuck Berry's music has transcended generations. Tunes like Johnny B. Goode, Maybellene, and Memphis are some of the most easily recognizable rock and roll songs of the century and have become anthems to American youth and pop culture. Little Richard exploded into the American rock & roll music scene in the mid-50's. His song Tutti Frutti was his catalyst to success and led to an uninterrupted run of smash hits including Long Tall Sally, Rip It Up, Lucille and Keep A Knockin'. BEAUTY Feast your eyes and ears on the visual and aural treat of Sleeping Beauty, one of the greatest pearls of Russian ballet. EVENING WITH ACOUSTIC ALCHEMY Come and enjoy Acoustic Alchemy's one of a kind jazz sounds as Greg Carmichael, Miles Gilderdale bring their unique sound to the King Center stage. This guitar-based duo personifies what has come to be known as New Adult Contemporary music. Their memorable melodies and complex interplay between nylon and steel string guitars helped to establish them as leaders in the emerging contemporary instrumental field. With eight albums under their belts, they continually strive to musically challenge both themselves and their listeners. Come and see for yourself.
