AccessLine
Provides Emergency Communications Services to NY and DC-Based Companies
and Employees
BELLEVUE,
Wash.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 11, 2001--
Message Centers
and Personal Phone Numbers to be Established Immediately to Facilitate
Communication
Responding
to the emergency conditions surrounding the terrorist attack on New York
City, its surrounding areas and the nation's capital, AccessLine Communications
Corporation is extending its hosted communications services to offer emergency
telephone numbers to businesses with New York City and Washington DC-based
operations that have been evacuated or closed due to the attack this morning
and to individuals that have been displaced. These phone numbers, provided
at no charge, will enable businesses to disseminate key communications
to callers to their businesses as well as to employees, receive voicemail
messages from callers and employees, ensure that employees can be reached
and that they will know when to return to work or where to go for services
in this time of emergency.
AccessLine has established special phone numbers and an emergency web
site address through which companies can establish their own communication
centers. In addition, AccessLine will also make available add-on services
that receive incoming calls to the businesses' normal phone numbers and
re-route them to other business locations, or to individual phone numbers
for employees. The company will help create and play emergency messages,
provide recorded instructions to employees and will build a telecom infrastructure
within hours to assist these companies. AccessLine will provide similar
services for individuals to help them communicate with family members.
This process has also been established for the nation's capital to address
the needs of businesses and government agencies. AccessLine will provide
these services in a way that helps to alleviate general network congestion
in the New York and DC areas.
Companies may also link to
www.accessline.com/emergency where a complete list of businesses and individuals
using these emergency phone numbers will be provided. News media may direct
the public to this site for information on how to make contact with customers
availing themselves of this service.
"During a time of crisis, communication is extremely important. Our
network is up and available. While traffic in and out of New York City
and Washington, DC is congested, and communications are challenging, we
can and will process calls for businesses in these areas -- and we stand
ready to assist others. We have dedicated emergency lines and operators
standing by to assist companies and employees in this time of need. There
will be no service fees for the emergency phone numbers or activation
throughout September. It is simply the right thing to do," stated
Ian Widger, president and Chief Executive Officer of AccessLine Communications.
Companies should call the following numbers to establish emergency message
centers: 877-357-0750, 877-357-0751 and 206-621-5864. AccessLine's Customer
Care organization is standing by 24x7 to assist both customers and non-customers
in need of assistance. The company asks the media to help publicize these
emergency message center numbers for businesses in need.
