Chateau
O'lan - Elan - Hosts St. Patrick's Festival March 14-17
BRASELTON, Ga.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 4, 2002--
Featuring Music, Food, Fun, Contest Prizes and Special Festival Packages
While almost 30% of Georgians claim Irish heritage (including Chateau
Elan founders Don & Nancy Panoz), and the other 70% claim at least
a drop of green blood in their veins on St. Patrick's Day, Chateau Elan
Winery & Resort welcomes all to visit the 3,500 resort during four
festive days, March 14-17. Admission to the resort is free.
Food and beverage and some activities require fees and convenient booths
are available for purchase of tickets.
In keeping with the ancient celebration of Ireland's patron saint, and
the auld sod's infectious character and cultural contributions to the
world, Chateau Elan will assume an Irish mantle as Chateau O'Lan during
the festival.
Beginning Thursday the 14th from 5 p.m.-midnight and from noon-midnight,
Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Chateau "O'lan" will join the millions
saluting Erin go Bragh (Ireland forever) with Irish music, live entertainment,
dancing, traditional foods and a golf putting (with green balls) contest.
Prizes include rounds of golf at either the Chateau or Woodlands courses
and golf balls. Special St. Patrick's overnight packages for two at the
Inn for $179 including breakfast are valid from March 14-17.
Centerpiece of the St. Patrick's Festival activities is Paddy's Irish
Pub, an authentic Irish pub originally commissioned in Ireland in 1997
then reassembled with the original furniture and fixtures at Chateau O'lan.
A giant 4,800 square foot tent connected to Paddy's and the covered Pavilion
Special Events facility will be the location of the food & beverage
stations and musical activities. Bangers n Mash, Fish n Chips, Corned
Beef sandwiches, Irish Wings, Guinness, Harp, Caffery's, Strongbow Cider
and other popular foods and libations will be served. Paddy's will also
feature a five line limerick contest celebrating St. Patrick's Day with
the grand prize entrant winning a four-day, three-night stay for two,
including airline tickets to Chateau Elan's new international flagship
property, the $80 million St Andrews Bay Golf Resort & Spa, in St
Andrews, Scotland.
Headlining the Paddy's show will again be Eamon O'Neil, the popular entertainer
from the Emerald Isle. His exhilarating non-stop Irish humor, parodies
and musical revue had everybody out of their seats joining in the singing,
and dancing, during last year's celebration. Duncan McLauchlan, well known
by Paddy's regulars will also entertain throughout the festival.
Chateau Elan (O'lan) is the national flagship property of Chateau Elan

and overseas and a member of Preferred Hotels, Worldwide. At 3,500 acres
just north of Atlanta, the resort destination provides a unique experience
where French provincial is enhanced by Southern hospitality (plus a wee
bit of Irish spirit) during the St. Patrick's Festival. A 16th century
