New "Sharks Deep Dive" Submerges SeaWorld Guests Into The Realm Of The Shark

Adventure Park Plunges Into Its Most Daring Animal Interaction Program

ORLANDO, Fla. - Sharks. The mere thought of these creatures elicits fear and wonder from anyone considering a swim in the world's oceans. Now, guests at SeaWorld Orlando can experience these feelings up close during the park's newest, most daring animal interaction program, Sharks Deep Dive.

Located at the Shark Encounter attraction, this awe-inspiring underwater experience immerses guests into the fascinating realm of these perfect predators. Participants don SeaWorld wetsuits and either snorkel or scuba dive in an authentic shark cage during their close encounter. The cage traverses through a 125-foot long underwater habitat teeming with an array of more than 50 sharks, including sand tigers, sand bars, Atlantic black tips, nurse, black nose, sawfish and a variety of colorful tropical fish.

"SeaWorld is the world leader in creating safe, yet thrilling, up-close animal interaction programs," said Keith Kasen, SeaWorld Orlando executive vice president and general manager. "Sharks Deep Dive plunges guests right into the middle of 'shark central'."

The two-hour program begins with a hands-on presentation covering shark physiology, conservation and the many myths about these misunderstood animals.

Sharks Deep Dive costs $150 per person to scuba dive or $125 to snorkel and includes two-day park admission, a commemorative T-shirt and a shark information booklet (tax included on both prices).

Proof of scuba certification is required and participants of both experiences must be 10 years or older. The program accommodates two guests at a time.

Reservations for Sharks Deep Dive can be made by calling 1-800-406-2244 or 407-363-2380 or by visiting the SeaWorld Behind-the-Scenes Tour counter inside the park.
