The only true form of American Music, Jazz, is celebrated at CityJazz at Universal Studiso CityWalk. Home to the Down Beat Jazz Hall of Fame, the venue was designed with the assistance of The Thelonious Monk Institute of Jazz. The sound system and acoustics are designed for crystal clear music reproduction, and the cuisine is equally superior. Specialties include caviar, sushi and escargot. Guest can also choose for a collection of over sixty vintage wines, or choose a drink from the rolling martini cart.

CITYJAZZ AT UNIVERSAL CITYWALK PRESENTS

JAZZ SINGER, SAXOPHONIST, FLUTIST AND KEYBOARDIST

MINDI ABAIR

WHAT: Mindi Abair will perform two live shows at CityJazz at Universal CityWalk for the first time.

Singer, saxophonist, flutist and keyboardist Mindi Abair spent much of her early life on tour with her father, accomplished saxophonist/keyboardist, Lance Abair. She began playing the keyboard at the age of five and picked up the saxophone at eight. "Music was mostly what was around me, and it came very naturally to me . No one ever told me it was odd or unusual to be a woman playing saxophone. By the time somebody told me, it was too late. And now here I am." Her jazzy voice and sultry saxophone spark curiosity in critics and draw a distinctive audience. Mindi has toured with the likes of Jonathan Butler, Bobby Lyle, Duran Duran, comedian/musician Adam Sandler and Mandy Moore. In 2000, at the height of their popularity, Mindi was asked to accompany The Backstreet Boys on their sold out "Millennium" world tour. Mindi’s most recent release, Come As You Are, debuted on September 14, 2004. www.mindiabair.com
