GRAMMY NOMINEES WILL ROCK THE SUN DOME THIS SPRING!
Tampa, Fla. (February 7, 2005) - Grammy nominees will be well represented in the Tampa Bay area this spring when Slipknot and Green Day perform at the USF Sun Dome. Slipknot, at the Sun Dome on Wednesday, March 23rd, is nominated in the following categories:

Green Day follows a month later with a show at the Sun Dome on Monday, April 18th. The punk trio is nominated in the following categories:

The Grammy Awards are nominated and awarded to nominees selected by the Recording Academy, an organization of musicians, producers, engineers and recording professionals dedicated to improving the quality of life and cultural condition for music and its makers. The 47th Grammy Awards will take place on Sunday February 13th and will be broadcast on CBS at 8:00PM.
The Sun Dome originally opened in 1981 and quickly established itself as Tampa Bay’s multi-purpose sports and entertainment workhorse, regularly hosting over 300 events a year, a tradition that continues today. Located on the campus of the University of South Florida in Tampa, the Sun Dome is the home of the USF Bulls men’s and women’s basketball teams.

The northern California band who rose to prominence with the release of their 1994 album “Dookie” are touring with special guests My Chemical Romance. Green Day’s current album, “American Idiot”, is nominated for Record Of The Year, Album Of The Year, Best Rock Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocal, Best Rock Song, Best Rock Album, Producer Of The Year, Non-Classical and Best Short Form Music Video.
